Proper Cumbrian food, from our valley to your table.

Raised, baked and preserved at Oakhowe, with a little help from our favourite Cumbrian makers. Delivered across the county or ready at the farm gate.

Everything in the shop

How it works

  1. 1.Pick your food

Fill a basket from the counter, or build a hamper from anything with a hamper tag.

  2. 2.Choose delivery or collection

We deliver across Cumbria, Tuesday to Saturday. Collection at the farm gate is free.

  3. 3.Packed the morning it leaves

Nothing is boxed the night before. Bread goes in last, still a little warm.

The Oakhowe hamper: built by you, packed by us.

Pick between six and ten things from the counters. We pack them in a wood-wool lined box with a hand-written card, ready to give.

Three generations, one valley

The farm came first, then the sheep, then the shop. Twelve years ago we moved the counter into the old milking parlour and started selling what we raise, bake and put up in jars, alongside the best of our neighbours. The third generation now runs the counter, to the same standards the first one set.

Kind words

The hamper was waiting at our cottage when we arrived. Everything in it was gone by the end of the weekend.
Sarah, Kendal
The best Cumberland sausage I have found since my grandad stopped making his own. Properly peppered, generous coil.
Tom, Penrith
I send the damson jam to my sister in Carlisle every birthday. It is the only gift she has not returned.
